Grounds & Facilities

When staying at Country Ways guests can take advantage of a number of communal facilities. These include seasonal activities such as bottle-feeding lambs and apple pressing.  Country Ways also has family friendly facilities. There is a children’s play area, a games room and many other features that will entertain the whole family no matter what your age. Games Room

The onsite games room features a pool table, a dart board, an Xbox, table football, table tennis and air hockey. Please note some items are only available on request and are subject to availability and charges may apply.

Grounds

When staying at Country Ways there are acres of woodlands and fields to explore, along with designated footpaths, an apple orchard and pond area. Guests can also request to see some of the onsite farm animals.

Farm Experiences

Enjoy feeding lambs, hunting for eggs, apple pressing and meeting the onsite animals such as pigs, cows and horses. Please note many farm activities are available via request only and are seasonal.

Highland Bar

The Highland Bar is open to guests and the public on some Tuesday and Thursday evenings. Please ask for opening details on arrival.

Laundry Room

The onsite communal laundry room is equipped with a large washing machine and tumble dryer, as well as an iron and ironing board. Please note additional costs may apply.

Catering

If you are coming to Country Ways for a special event or would like to have caterers come to your cottage to cook a meal, details for recommended caterers can be given on request.

Hampers

Special cream tea hampers can be placed in the cottage ready for your arrival at Country Ways or they can be served on the terrace. Meat and cheese platters are also available. Please ask for more information and costs.

Sauna

Located next to the main farmhouse is the onsite communal sauna, which is available on an hourly basis. The cost for the sauna is £10 per hour. Please ask for more information as the sauna needs at least two hours to heat up.

The Corn Barn

Country Ways has a large communal barn that can be used for events or retreats. The Corn Barn is the ideal place to celebrate a special occasion with a large lunch or dinner. Please ask for more information.

Office

When staying at Country Ways the main office, which is located near the car park is open daily with a number of day to day essentials on offer, including eggs, toilet rolls etc. 

Childrens play area

The children’s play area at Country Ways features a swing set, a wendy house, a seesaw and various other pieces of equipment. Please note that items in the play area are subject to change.

FAQ

Are the facilities at Country Ways communal?Yes, the facilities at Country Ways are communal with all guests staying onsite able to take advantage of them.
Are the facilities at Country Ways open all year round?Most facilities are available all year round, however, there are seasonal activities such as feeding the lambs and apple pressing.
Is the Highland Bar open all year round?The Highland Bar is normally open on a Tuesday and Thursday, however, please ask for opening details on arrival.
Are the grounds accessible?To a certain extent yes, and the owners of Country Ways will do everything they can to get you to see all areas of the grounds.
What are the costs for using the laundry?Each use of the washing machine and tumble dryer is £5.00. Please note these are industrial sized machines that take double what you would fit in a normal machine.
What is the cost for using items in the games room?There is a 50p per game charge for using the pool table.
How can we see the farm animals?Please ask on arrival or whilst you are there to have someone show you around the farm.
What is the cost of using the sauna?The sauna is available at a charge of £10 per hour. Please let the owners of Country Ways know at least two hours before you wish to use the sauna so they can make sure it is turned on.
What is the charge for a cream tea?Cream teas are charged at £6.50 per person when delivered to the cottages, alternatively they can be served on the terrace for £7.50 per person. Each cream tea includes scones, fresh strawberry jam and clotted cream.
What is the price for eggs?Fresh farm eggs are available for £1.20 per half dozen and £2 per dozen.
